Popular Louisiana Scholarships
This section of the page is dedicated to those of you who are interested in scholarships specifically for the Louisiana area. This means that all of the scholarships or education awards that you see from this point forward can only be applied for if you live in the Louisiana area or are going to a Louisiana college. We do want to point out that a lot of the scholarships in Louisiana cannot be obtained if you haven’t first signed up for FAFSA. It is for this reason that we are recommending that you sign up whenever you get a chance. It is definitely worth the time, effort and money to fill out an application because FAFSA is the closest thing you can get to guaranteed money (although nothing is guaranteed). So, with that in mind lets take a look at some popular Louisiana scholarships.
LEAP- LEAP awards between $200 and $2,000 to it’s applicants depending on a variety of factors. As stated above, you must first have filled out and submitted an application for financial aid to be eligible for this scholarship. You must also maintain a GPA of 2.0 (which is relatively low compared to some other scholarships). Click the link we provided to learn more about this scholarship.
TOPS Honor Award- This particular scholarship pays a students tuition if they enter a Louisiana college. However, there are quite a few application requirements including: minimum GPA of 3.0, ACT score of 27, must be a full time college student in Louisiana).
