Right now times are tough. The economy is struggling and many people are returning to school to expand their work opportunities. This can be especially said of California who’s rise in students returning to school is staggering. As a result, there are a lot of scholarships and grants being offered to the new incoming students. Grants For Women In The State Of California

California is a very large state with a large amount of scholarships and grants. As a woman you are eligible to receive many of these grants. Our job is to make you aware of the best scholarships so you can make an educated decision as to whether or not you want to take time out of your busy schedule and apply for it. The following scholarships were all found and labeled as the best in our exhaustive search for scholarships in California. Enjoy!

Cal Grant- You can win up to $1,550 with this grant. However, you must meet the requirements to apply which include: being a U.S. citizen, being a citizen of the state of California, Minimum GPA of either 2.0 or 3.0 depending on the scholarship you are applying for and you may also submit your SAT, ACT or GED results.

Assumption Program- You can win up to $2,000 in your first year and $3,000 for your second, third and fourth years with this grant. However, you need to meet the following qualifications if you are interested in applying for this scholarship. You must be interested in pursuing a career in education, you need to show your academic performance and you must be nominated to apply. Future Scholars Program- We have provided a link to a Google search since there is no website for this scholarship. Instead, there is a document you can download and fill out to apply. Each year 30 students are awarded $1,000 for this scholarship. You must be a member of the state of California and a graduate from a California high school to apply for this scholarship.

UC Freshman Scholarship- If you are an incoming freshman to the University of California then you may be interested in this grant. You must have at least a GPA of 3.5 and you must complete an interview to be eligible to receive this scholarship of $4,000. Visit the site to learn more.
